The Payment Application Data Security Standard is to give guidlines toward secure coding practices to software vendors and developers of payment applications.

By July 1, 2010, all merchants using this type of payment processing system must make sure they’re using software that is safe.  The easiest way to do this is to go to the following sites where Payment Applications that have been ‘certified as safe’ are listed.  You’ll need to check the version of the software you’re using has been listed.  If you don’t see your software listed,  Check with your VAR or seller and ask about their PCI PA DSS Compliance.  If they didn’t have their software listed for easy merchant reference, they should STILL have copies of their audit certification they can share with you.
