Pin Encryption

Pin Transaction Security - Formerly Pin Encryption Devices

To ensure the highest possible PIN security standards in the electronic payments industry, VISA and MasterCard (Association) began mandating Pin Encryption Device (PED) compliance to pin debit processing through DUKPT, Single-DES (SDES) and Triple-Des (TDES) over the past 10 years.  Many PEDs are not able to accept the current compliant encryption, therefore it may become necessary to upgrade your PIN device by July 1, 2010 to comply with the Association mandates.

TermNet is here to assist you with complaince to Association mandates, however in the end, it is the responsibility of each merchant to ensure they are processing PIN Debit through Association approved devices as of July 1, 2010.

To obtain a listing of compliant devices please click on the link below:

This site will provide Approved PIN Transaction Security Devices.  Please note you will need to ensure you are checking the version , model # and firmware # of your device.  (For instance:  VeriFone 1000se Pin Pad may be on the compliant list, however there are various models of the earlier 1000se which are not compliant.)
